up against it

Gaaasp! That is the exact sound I made when I saw Stephanie Seymour on the cover of Pop Magazine. It's a striking cover; then again, a highly revered Supermodel (note the bolded super) splayed against a wall in her nudie pants is always striking. Unless it's Kate Moss, cause that's just commonplace for her. However, I'm ambivalent about this cover; yeah it's a total fashion orgasm, but then again, where is the fashion? There is nary an accessory in sight, save for that strait-jacket-like corset and a peek of a shoe. And is that a modified, leather version of the metallic Dolce & Gabbana chastity belt? Oh that Pop...

Hmmm... I get that Stephanie Seymour is having a 'moment' again but I'm not digging the styling at all...

I think that the message is very clear.

This season all attention will be about the waist and belts.

What you guys think?

if it was anyone else it would be kind of too attention seek-y and slutty fro words, but with her it kind of rocks.

i like how minamalistic the cover is, but i also agree with you about the fashion being absent.
but maybe they're focusing on her extreme body & eye-catching accessories ?

It's POP season again, already?
Well, this is all rather exciting; it's my favourite magazine, but I agree with you.

And naked is POP's thing, but perhaps they could have done something a little different?

Seeing her naked and covered in tattoos would have been a different story!

I like Stephanie, she is so stylish! I think this cover it's trying to point out the waist, but I agree with you in the weird situation of absent of fashion in a fashion magazine, it does not make sense, but I guess fashion sometimes does not make any sense!

I agree that the cover isn't very "fashion orgasm." Does that sound intellectual? HAHA.

Not sure about this one. Not liking it. It's just misogynistic to me.

I think the horizontal angle is off putting - but think that although it's not about fashion it goes deeper than that - it's about style!

You're definitely right. Where is the fashion?!?

It's Stephanie Seymour, though I do think POP could have done a bit better- I love seeing the 90s models in fashion still.

i prefer her to sienna miller, but the last cover is a definite winner to this one. it's very dull.
