The supermodel Veruschka conjures up many images: writhing like a sexthing for a snapping photographer in Blow Up, towering over everyone as an amazon, or covered in body paint as an animalistic prowess. Born Vera von Lehndorff in East Prussia, her dad tried to kill Hitler with the German Resistance, but failed and was assassinated. She stayed in various camps and stints in 13 schools and children called her a 'stork'. And usually when one is made fun of in school by shitty little kids for being gawky and tall, they become supermodels.
Starting out as a virtual unknown in NYC, and being dissed by Eileen Ford, she created the moniker of Veruschka, a name which pretty much gives off a whiff of sexuality, and adapted a alluring Russian background that rapt the fashion world. She appeared on 11 covers of Vogue and adapted a penchant for body paint. She took advantage of being a sixties bombshell and hooked up with a lineup of those virile Hollywood leading men back in the days (Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Dustin Hoffman, etc.) She was always my favorite supermodel, what with her mysterious persona, penchant for promiscuity, and goodness I wanted her legs.
Currently, Veruschka roams around and lives in Berlin and is a devoted cat lady and artist.

assless denim
Of course V Magazine and Mario Testino would put Gisele in shreds of denim for their summer cover. Is there anytime where Gisele isn't all bombshell-ish glistening with sex and what not? How classy is that last cover with the denim shorts/butt floss combo? Assless pants these days, sigh.

up against it
Gaaasp! That is the exact sound I made when I saw Stephanie Seymour on the cover of Pop Magazine. It's a striking cover; then again, a highly revered Supermodel (note the bolded super) splayed against a wall in her nudie pants is always striking. Unless it's Kate Moss, cause that's just commonplace for her. However, I'm ambivalent about this cover; yeah it's a total fashion orgasm, but then again, where is the fashion? There is nary an accessory in sight, save for that strait-jacket-like corset and a peek of a shoe. And is that a modified, leather version of the metallic Dolce & Gabbana chastity belt? Oh that Pop...

An American Scandal
The sexual liasons in Washington D.C. has always shocked and astounded me - there's the infamous Monica Lewinsky scandal, then there's those Capitol Hill escort services that cater specifically to politicos and their wild sex fantasies. Sigh, why can't American politicians keep their junk in their pants?
ANYWHO, Juergen Teller captures the naughty side of Washington D.C. in W magazine avec cabbage patch doll Lily Cole as a sort of salacious redheaded Jackie O. Minus the pillbox hats.

if in doubt, tart it up
i-D tartz it up for the February 08 issue with smokey-eyed, garter-clad BFFs Gemma and Lily on the cover. The disheveled tresses, bitch-red pout and lingerie just screams brothel chic, no?

The Sex and the Shitty Trailer
The Sex and the City trailer says nothing at all, yet shows everything the movie's about. Literally, it just shows a couple flashes of random scenes; hopefully this quickie of a preview is a teaser trailer cause I will fork over ten bucks to see this in theaters. I guess that the producers don't want to give away too much of the plot, but still at least give us the gist of it. I assume SATC fans will piss themselves with joy at the sight of Carrie and her ginormous flower; the haters will wish to asphyxiate Carrie with her ginormous flower. Either way, so far, I deduced the plot consists of Carrie spinning around in a wedding dress, Carrie putting away shoes in her skivvies, a Big kiss, and Charlotte dressed as MIA.
Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?

Jonesing for Gainsbourg...
The much anticipated French Vogue edited by Charlotte Gainsbourg has come out!!! (Apologies for the overtly giddy exclamation points; I can't help myself.) The feature editorial, "La Science du Rêve", shot by Craig McDean, is quite the provocateur. Hello, stockings + fugly yet hot prada pumps+ Gainsbourg = GENIUS.
I'm so fashionorgasming for an issue that I'm willing and ready to obtain one at that one crime-ravaged magazine shoppe with all those robbery-homicides! What an obituary that would be: shot whilst jonesing for an issue of French Vogue.

Versace Hair
One of the things I've wanted forever: Versace hair. It's all about the lush, flowy, italian sex machine look that I spent way too much time striving for. Sadly my attempts are futile, no matter how many darned 3-inch Conair rollers I stick in my head, I just end up with a bad case of frizz and shizz. I remember as a dim-witted adolescent, I listened to Seventeen magazine and used a toilet paper roll and foil as DIY rollers, and I just looked a fool. Clearly, the depths of desperation is Seventeen magazine hair advice. My only solution is incessantly flipping my head up and down, like a maniacal narcissist. So, reader, what are your hair issues, if any?
I can't do this^
