under the influence of wine...house

The Amy Winehouse influence on fashion has been far and wide, almost to an Agyness Deyn-like vexation. Even as she goes through a downward spiral, she's been emulated sickeningly from Chanel to French Vogue. However, I admit to being under the influence of Winehouse at times, slathering on more black eyeliner than necessary or fucking my hair up into a bouffant nest. But I really liked Korean Numero's take on the troubled singer, featuring my favorite model, Daul Kim, carrying the weight of a small child on her head in the form of a beehive do. How fun!

Also, check out Daul's blog, I Like To Fork Myself, full of amusing and enjoyably morbid tribulations on fashion, art, culture, philosophy, and pet hamsters. Seriously her take on Steve Aoki's "dj-ing" is more than enough reason for me to admire her more.

I really love this shoot - there was another one exactly the same in British Vogue (maybe?) last month. I'm not a fan of Amy but I appreciate her individual style - it's pretty cool.
Cool blog!

I LOVE this editorial!!! I don't know what it is about Amy Winehouse but her music totally hypnotizes you.. and she's always fun to look at.

I'm still in two minds about Amy, on one side I love the whole pin up rockabilly look with the beehive and the tattoos, but at the same time, it is now impossible to wear black eyeliner and that kind of style without someone saying "oohhh you look very Amy Winehouse!"
I look like a tranny heroin addict?
Thanks! :-D

I think amy has a style that's all her own and can be appreciated for the creativity of it all.

She puts a fresh perspective on Amy! It really is interesting to see how far her influence has gone in fashion and beauty! It isn't all that attractive on her, but it seems to work for other people! :)

hmm, feel like this concept is just a bit unoriginal now.

but then again, I do love daul (and her blog!) and I prefer this to the Paris Vogue version.

haa, amy has just started playing on the radio. is there no escaping?

i love the first shot - i never thought that prada bag from spring could look cool - but i stand corrected. loves it. winehouse and all.

wow I like this editorial! But seems like everyone is playing off the beehive recently, no? Isabelli and Michael Kors and now this... Plus Winehouse is always in the media... It's like - overkill on big hair and cat eyeliner. But on a gorgeous Model carrying Prada - it works
