under the influence of wine...house

The Amy Winehouse influence on fashion has been far and wide, almost to an Agyness Deyn-like vexation. Even as she goes through a downward spiral, she's been emulated sickeningly from Chanel to French Vogue. However, I admit to being under the influence of Winehouse at times, slathering on more black eyeliner than necessary or fucking my hair up into a bouffant nest. But I really liked Korean Numero's take on the troubled singer, featuring my favorite model, Daul Kim, carrying the weight of a small child on her head in the form of a beehive do. How fun!

Also, check out Daul's blog, I Like To Fork Myself, full of amusing and enjoyably morbid tribulations on fashion, art, culture, philosophy, and pet hamsters. Seriously her take on Steve Aoki's "dj-ing" is more than enough reason for me to admire her more.

dragon eyes

"La fille du Dragon," ("the girl of the dragon," in english) from Numéro 90 February 2008 shot by Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello avec model Marina Perez. The makeup is intense; winged yellow highlighter eyeliner, ooers. Finally, a Spring editorial minus all the prints vomited upon it. (see previous post.)

prints, prints, everywhere

Spring 08 is print crazy- first the Meisel editorial for Vogue Italia and now this edit. for V Magazine shot by Steven Klein. Stam looks like she lazing around like some sort of homeless, floral trendwhore. It's like looking into a kaleidoscope of Dries Van Noten and Prada whatsits, while on some sort of LSD trip. Excess these days...

An American Scandal

The sexual liasons in Washington D.C. has always shocked and astounded me - there's the infamous Monica Lewinsky scandal, then there's those Capitol Hill escort services that cater specifically to politicos and their wild sex fantasies. Sigh, why can't American politicians keep their junk in their pants?

ANYWHO, Juergen Teller captures the naughty side of Washington D.C. in W magazine avec cabbage patch doll Lily Cole as a sort of salacious redheaded Jackie O. Minus the pillbox hats.

Trippy

Vogue Italia takes an acid trip through the Spring 08 psychedelic flower trend with models Meghan Collison, Kinga Rajzak, Lara Stone, Hanne-Gaby Odiele, and Maryna Linchuk. Just another reason to get that tatoo you've always wanted. All over your legs, John Galliano style.

Jonesing for Gainsbourg...

The much anticipated French Vogue edited by Charlotte Gainsbourg has come out!!! (Apologies for the overtly giddy exclamation points; I can't help myself.) The feature editorial, "La Science du Rêve", shot by Craig McDean, is quite the provocateur. Hello, stockings + fugly yet hot prada pumps+ Gainsbourg = GENIUS.

I'm so fashionorgasming for an issue that I'm willing and ready to obtain one at that one crime-ravaged magazine shoppe with all those robbery-homicides! What an obituary that would be: shot whilst jonesing for an issue of French Vogue.

Dynamic Leg Action.

Daria in Numéro 88, shot by Greg Kadel. One can always count on Daria for sex, cigarettes, muscularity, and to show off the latest in animal printwear. Oooh pink leopard with cutouts, classy!
